A veces los maestros pon\u00edan un cron\u00f3metro. En 4 a\u00f1os, Jayson tendr\u00e1 la mitad de la edad de uno de sus hermanos. \u00bfCu\u00e1les son dos posibles combinaciones de edades de los tres hermanos?<\/em><\/p><p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">El maestro present\u00f3 el problema verbal, estableci\u00f3 asociaciones y dej\u00f3 que los estudiantes se pusieran a trabajar. Mostraron su trabajo y soluciones en grandes pedazos de papel de construcci\u00f3n. La mayor\u00eda de las asociaciones necesitaron los 50 minutos completos asignados para elaborar su estrategia, sus soluciones y mostrar su trabajo con claridad. Los estudiantes pasaron el resto del bloque de matem\u00e1ticas turn\u00e1ndose para presentar su trabajo a la clase y haciendo y respondiendo preguntas de sus compa\u00f1eros. Los estudiantes no solo propusieron respuestas muy diferentes, sino que sus respuestas iban desde muy simples hasta bastante complejas, y algunas involucraban decimales y\/o fracciones. Y ni una sola asociaci\u00f3n abord\u00f3 el problema exactamente de la misma manera.<\/p><h3 style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">El cerebro y las matem\u00e1ticas de los estudiantes<\/h3><p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Los estudiantes en este aula hipot\u00e9tica obtuvieron m\u00e1s comprensi\u00f3n de ese problema que si hubieran pasado la misma cantidad de tiempo resolviendo 100 problemas de pr\u00e1ctica escritos en forma est\u00e1ndar. Adem\u00e1s, probablemente se divirtieron mucho m\u00e1s. Esto se debe a que los cerebros de los estudiantes necesitan <a href=\"https:\/\/braintrusttutors.com\/blog\/making-math-feel-relevant\">comprometerse mucho m\u00e1s profundamente con los conceptos matem\u00e1ticos <\/a>con el fin de dar pleno sentido a esos conceptos.<\/p><p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Los estudiantes de la clase anterior tuvieron que abordar un tipo de problema que nunca antes hab\u00edan visto.
